Household & Cleaning
Tide — EU-Sourced Wholesale Supply for Export Markets
Tide laundry detergent held in Europe and exported from Madrid, for buyers in the markets where Tide is the name on the shelf rather than the alternative to it.
- Powder in bag and box formats for value and export channels
- Liquid detergent and single-dose capsule counts
- Original packaging, artwork and coding untouched
- Origin instrument confirmed per allocation, not assumed
- Case, pallet or full container load quantities
- EXW Madrid, FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP
Quotes are issued against confirmed allocation and state production origin, fill size, pack construction and lead time. Typical turnaround is one business day.
How Tide is supplied
Format availability is allocation-dependent, so the exact specification always travels on the pro-forma invoice rather than being fixed on a web page. Tell us the destination and the label rule you work to, and we confirm which market version is on offer before you commit.

Which name does your shopper reach for?
Everything else on this page is secondary to that question, and it is the one buyers skip. Laundry is one of a very small number of categories where the leading name is not the same on both sides of a frontier. The same manufacturer runs different laundry trademarks in different territories, built up over decades of separate advertising, so the household that knows one name has often never seen the other and does not experience it as an equivalent. That is not brand snobbery. It is the reason a perfectly priced container can sit in a warehouse for a year.
Across Western Europe the shopper's default is generally not Tide, which is why the European enquiries that reach us for it come almost entirely from re-exporters and hardly ever from EU retail. The name is the default across North America and carries real recall through parts of Asia, the Middle East, the eastern half of Europe and Central Asia. If your planogram was drawn around it, an equivalent from another trademark is a substitution your shopper will notice at the fixture. If your market has never listed it, importing it is a brand-building exercise and should be budgeted as one rather than treated as a stock decision. Buyers who work through this and conclude their market is the other kind can take Ariel from the same warehouse on the same offer, and we would far rather have that conversation than ship you the wrong container. Both sit inside our household and cleaning range.
Two checks that settle it and cost nothing
Walk the modern trade and independent fixtures in your own market and record what is physically stocked, brand by brand and format by format. Then look at what your own trade customers name when they ring an order in. Where those two disagree, the shelf is usually the truthful one, and the call log is picking up unserved demand from people who travel, from expatriate households and from diaspora trade — real, but far smaller than it sounds, and best tested at pallet scale before anyone books a container.
What EU-held stock is, and what origin actually certifies
Two things dominate this search internationally: North American domestic distribution, and offshore production of unbranded or lookalike laundry product. What we offer is neither. It is genuine brand-owner stock held inside the European trade and exported from Spain by an independent distributor, with a short documented chain between the goods and you.
On origin we are precise rather than promotional, because buyers routinely conflate two different instruments. A Certificate of Origin states where goods were produced. A EUR.1 movement certificate goes further: it certifies preferential origin under a specific trade agreement, and preference depends on where the goods were manufactured, not on where they were bought, stored or shipped from. Stock held in Europe is not automatically stock of European preferential origin. For the specific allocation offered, we confirm in writing which instrument travels with it, before anything is committed, since the duty you pay at the far end can depend on it. Our export documentation guide sets out what each paper in the file does and who at your end will ask for it.
Telling genuine stock from something that resembles it
No other article on our list is shadowed by as much lookalike and unbranded supply as this one, and any buyer sourcing it across borders will be shown offers that are not what they first appear to be. Three questions separate them, and they should be put to us as readily as to anybody else.
- Is this branded manufacturer stock, or an unbranded product made to a comparable specification? Both are legitimate goods; they are not the same purchase, and a wide gap in the number is usually the tell.
- Does the description on the offer match the description that will appear on the invoice, the packing list and the export declaration, article by article, with the retail barcode named? A file that does not reconcile is a file that will be examined.
- Is the artwork original and the batch and date coding intact and legible, or has something been over-stickered, re-wrapped or repacked at some point in the chain?
Our answers are the same every time. We supply branded stock in original packaging with artwork and coding untouched. We do not repack, we do not overlabel, and we quote what we can actually hold rather than what we could theoretically obtain. Iguazu Trading claims no appointment, agency or exclusivity from the brand owner and has none.
Dosing conventions travel with the shopper
A detail that catches out first-time importers on a re-export lane: households wash the way they learned to wash. Where the market has run conventional powder at a generous dose for a generation, a concentrated format that does the same job in a smaller measure is often read as a weaker product rather than a more efficient one, and the complaint arrives as "it doesn't lather" rather than as a question about dosing. Scent expectations differ regionally in the same way, and scent is a more powerful driver of repeat purchase in this category than most buyers credit.
None of that is an obstacle. It is a reason to specify the variant and the format deliberately, and to tell us what the market you are entering is already used to, so that the offer is built around the article your shopper will accept rather than the article that ships most efficiently. Powder tends to carry the re-export lanes for exactly this reason as much as for its robustness. The economics of choosing between powder, liquid and capsules, including the payload arithmetic that governs how much of any of them can legally be carried, is set out on the Ariel page and there is no purpose in writing it twice; it transfers without amendment, and the short version is that a Tide-only container finishes loading with real space above the pallets and that space is worth filling with something light.
Routing from an inland warehouse
We load in Madrid, which is inland, so every consignment starts with a road leg: roughly three hundred and fifty kilometres to Valencia, about six hundred and twenty to Barcelona, each a day's haul. Algeciras is available where transhipment suits the lane better, and the Coslada dry port is the rail option out of Madrid. Those two deep-sea gateways cover the lanes this line actually runs on: the Gulf and the broader Middle East, South and South-East Asia, both coasts of Africa, and transatlantic and Caribbean routings. Choosing between the pair is a question of service and schedule rather than of distance. If you are weighing one against the other, the comparison of the two ports covers what usually decides it.
Goods move EXW Madrid, FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP. DDP is not offered as standard. The term is not an administrative field: it decides who carries cost and risk on each leg, and on a dense, weight-limited cargo with road legs at both ends that allocation is worth thinking about rather than copying from a previous order. Name the discharge port when you write and what comes back is a routing as well as a number.
What a Tide pro-forma settles
An order is fixed on a written pro-forma covering the articles and pack sizes, the quantities, the case and pallet build, gross and net weights, dating, the origin instrument that will travel, the term and the price. Nothing is loaded against a figure that has not been agreed there, and there is no published price list, no published minimum and no standing quantity threshold; what makes sense for you is set by format, weight, destination and whether you are mixing lines.
Because this is usually a re-export line, it is worth deciding early whether you are shipping to order each cycle or holding stock closer to your market. Duty timing changes the cash-flow arithmetic considerably on a dense, high-tonnage category, and it moves the quantity worth putting in front of us, not merely the address it sits at. Our note on bonded warehousing covers when that is worth the paperwork and when it simply adds cost. Trade accounts — importers, distributors, wholesalers, retail groups and re-exporters — are opened before the first quotation, and quotations on listed brands come back inside one business day.
