Kinder — Wholesale Supply

Kinder is a family of quite different products sharing one trademark. We supply the range from Madrid by case, pallet or container, and help buyers decide how deep to go on each sub-line before the pro-forma is cut.

  • Bueno, Chocolate, Maxi, Country, Surprise and Joy
  • Singles, multipacks, mixed assortments, seasonal formats
  • Sub-line depth set against live allocation, not a wish list
  • Case, pallet, FCL; mixed-brand pallets are standard
  • EXW Madrid, FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP under Incoterms 2020
  • Listed-brand quotes returned within one business day

Quotes are issued against confirmed allocation and state production origin, fill size, pack construction and lead time. Typical turnaround is one business day.

Specification

How Kinder is supplied

Format availability is allocation-dependent, so the exact specification always travels on the pro-forma invoice rather than being fixed on a web page. Tell us the destination and the label rule you work to, and we confirm which market version is on offer before you commit.

One trademark, six businesses

Kinder is not a product. It is a fixture wearing a single name, and the sub-lines under it sell to different shoppers, at different price points, on different occasions, with different seasonality and different import treatment. A buyer who orders “Kinder” the way they would order a countline is really placing five or six separate bets at once and only tracking one number against them.

That is the useful thing for a supply page to address, so this one is about range architecture: how much of the family to take, in what proportions, and how to find that out without paying for the lesson twice. The freight questions matter too and are covered further down, but they are not what stalls a Kinder deal. Indecision about depth is.

What each sub-line is actually for

Bueno is the adult indulgence line and, in most export markets we quote, the single most requested item in the family. It is bought at the till and on the go, it responds to visibility rather than to promotion, and it will carry a listing on its own if it has to. Kinder Chocolate and Maxi are the children's snacking and family-shop end: bought in advance, bought in multiples, and far more sensitive to pack price than Bueno is. Country and the wafer and praline formats extend the block for shoppers already familiar with the brand rather than recruiting new ones. Surprise and Joy are novelty and gifting, which means they trade to a calendar and to a toy proposition as much as to a chocolate one.

Put plainly: one of those lines recruits, two of them build baskets, one of them holds a fixture together on repeat purchase, and one of them spikes. They do not deserve equal depth, and the correct proportions are a market fact rather than a brand fact.

A workable way to set depth on a first order

  1. Start with a single indulgence line, a single children's line and, where the market rewards it, one novelty or gifting line. Three bets rather than six.
  2. Take the core grammage your channel genuinely sells rather than the one with the best case economics.
  3. Build the rest as a mixed pallet across sub-lines instead of committing a full pallet to each.
  4. Read the off-take for a full replenishment cycle before widening.
  5. Widen on evidence, and drop what did not move rather than reordering it out of tidiness.

Mixed pallets are the mechanism that makes this affordable, and they are standard here rather than an accommodation. Tell us what you want to test and we will tell you what can be built against the allocation in front of us.

Where each line can go, and where it cannot

Two of the best-known formats in this family are not treated identically by every import regime, which is unusual in confectionery and is a routing question rather than an argument for leaving them out. It is also the commonest way a programme on this brand comes unstuck at destination, because nobody looks at it until the container is already moving.

United States food law does not admit confectionery in which a non-nutritive item is completely surrounded by the food, and that applies to a commercial consignment exactly as it does to something in a traveller's bag. The two-compartment construction, which seals the toy into its own half away from anything edible, is what makes that alternative workable where the enclosed format is not. Where any leg of a programme touches United States customs territory, transhipment included, flag it at the enquiry and the range is built around it. Treat this as a sourcing consideration rather than legal advice: the current position at your border belongs to your broker to confirm.

Toy-and-food formats also attract more attention from destination authorities than a plain bar does, so the labelling layer deserves an early conversation. Whether Arabic labelling, a regional declaration format or particular certification is a condition for your retailer depends on the market and on the origin of the batch in question. That gets checked against the consignment on offer instead of being asserted about the brand at large, and the artwork language goes onto the pro-forma so that nothing is found out when the doors are opened.

Market versions and what travels on the offer

A trademark this widely produced does not mean one identical pack everywhere. Grammages, recipe details, declaration formats and language sets differ between production regions, and a listing agreed on one version is not automatically satisfied by another. Our stock is EU-produced, supplied in the manufacturer's own sealed packaging with artwork, ingredient declaration, batch coding and date coding intact, and never re-boxed or relabelled by us. The confirmed market version goes on the pro-forma before you commit, which is the only place a claim like that means anything.

The same logic runs through everything else on our stock list. What we publish is what we trade; what is available in a given week is what the offer says, not what the page implies.

Heat, wafer and thin shells

This family sits at the delicate end of what we export. Wafer depends on a filling staying firm; let the filling go soft and the texture that made the product worth buying has gone. A thin moulded shell shows distortion and surface marking well before a solid piece of the same weight would. On a warm corridor that turns the equipment question from optional into structural, decided when the sailing is planned rather than when the box is stuffed.

Thresholds are not published here, because the useful answer follows the lane, the month, the stow and the wait at the far end rather than any number in a table. What we will do is fix the equipment on the booking, together with the set points where controlled units are involved, and say so when a given lane in a given month has no business being in a dry box. Buyers running a spread alongside the chocolate block frequently price the hazelnut spread listing at the same time, since a jar pallet and a wafer pallet behave nothing like each other in the same container.

Quantities, documents and setting up the account

Case, pallet and full container load are all available, and mixed-brand and mixed-category pallets are ordinary. No case count, build pattern or minimum appears on this page. Each of the three follows the format and the run behind it, and any number put in front of a buyer before the stock has been looked at is guesswork wearing the costume of a specification. They belong on the pro-forma, against what is genuinely on the floor.

Goods load EXW at our Madrid premises, or move FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP through Valencia and Barcelona, with Algeciras available as a transhipment alternative. The commercial invoice, packing list, export declaration and transport document travel as standard, with a Certificate of Origin and an EUR.1 where a preferential agreement applies. We are an independent distributor of genuine brand-owner stock and hold no appointment from any brand, which is worth stating because it is a legal point rather than a modest one. If you are still deciding which markets to open, the destinations we ship into gives a sense of how these programmes are usually structured, and the trade questions we answer most often covers terms, documentation and payment for a first account.

How a first Kinder order tends to run

It starts with a destination and a channel rather than a SKU list. We come back with what is allocatable now, what artwork and market version it carries, and a suggested split across sub-lines that is usually narrower than the one the buyer asked for. That narrowing is the point of the exercise. Three lines with real depth outsell six lines spread thin, and the cases that did not move are the ones still on the pallet when the reorder falls due.

From there we cut a pro-forma covering formats, quantities, dating, pack configuration, price and Incoterm. Nothing loads against anything that is not on it. Payment terms and the document set are agreed at the same time rather than after the booking, and if your destination requires something specific in the file we would rather find that out while the container is still an idea. On repeat orders the conversation gets shorter, because by then you have off-take data and we have a build that worked.
